Charlotte Eubanks

Professor of Comparative Literature, Japanese, and Asian Studies

Charlotte Eubanks is the Department Head of Comparative Literature at Penn State University. They previously served as an Associate Professor of Comparative Literature, Japanese, and Asian Studies at Penn State from 2013 to 2021, and were a Lecturer of Classical Japanese at the University of Virginia from 2005 to 2006. Eubanks began their academic journey with a BA in Comparative Literature and Japanese from The University of Georgia and later earned an MA in Japanese from Indiana University, followed by a PhD in Comparative Literature with a focus on Japanese from the University of Colorado at Boulder. They also gained international teaching experience as an Assistant Language Teacher in Fukuoka-ken, Japan, through the JET Program from 1994 to 1996.
