Christopher Ali currently holds the position of Pioneers Chair in Telecommunications at Penn State University since August 2022, following a tenure as Associate Professor in the Department of Media Studies at the University of Virginia from August 2013 to August 2022. Ali has expertise in media policy and regulation and has held various prestigious roles, including Knight Innovation News Fellow at the Tow Center for Digital Journalism, Faculty Fellow at the Benton Foundation, and Fellow with the Global Future Council on Information and Entertainment at the World Economic Forum. Ali’s academic journey includes a PhD and Master's degrees from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master's degree from Concordia University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Film Studies and Sociology from the University of Alberta.
