Edward Smith

Edward Smith is a Distinguished Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Penn State University, where Edward has held various titles since August 1992, including Director of the Vertical Lift Research Center of Excellence and Professor of Aerospace Engineering. In September 2023, Edward became a Graduate Faculty Member at the Penn State Acoustics Program. During a sabbatical leave, Edward served as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point from July to December 2014. Edward earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University in 1988, followed by a Master's degree in 1990 and a PhD in 1992 from the University of Maryland.
