Tapas Mal is an accomplished researcher with extensive experience in the field of molecular and structural characterization of peptides. Currently serving as the Director of the NMR Facility at Penn State University since May 2017, Tapas previously held positions as Principal Investigator and Associate Director of the CCIC-NMR at The Ohio State University and as Principal Research Scientist at Pfizer. Additional roles include Senior Research Associate at University Health Network, Research Scientist at AstraZeneca, and Research Associate at University Health Network. Tapas' academic background includes a D.Phil. in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford and a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Early research experience includes a Post Doctoral Fellowship at the Ontario Cancer Institute and a Research Assistant position at the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. Expertise encompasses a range of biophysical techniques, including NMR, CD, UV, and HPLC.
