John Ponsonby

John Ponsonby is an experienced leader in the aviation industry, having spent over 30 years in various management roles. John is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director at Pennant, and previously served as Chairman of the Aviation Skills Foundation from February 2019 to January 2022. Prior to that, John was Managing Director at AgustaWestland Ltd/Leonardo Helicopters (UK) from August 2015 to January 2018.

John began their career in 1974 with HM Forces, where they served for over 30 years, rising to the rank of Air Vice-Marshal before retiring in 2007. John then joined Leonardo in September 2007 as SVP Customer Support and Training Services Worldwide, responsible for operational delivery of support and training solutions across all AW commercial and military products, worldwide. John also served as Director of AgustaWestland Ltd, Aviation Training International Ltd, Rotorsim Srl, Rotorsim LLC, and AgustaWestland Portugal during their time with Leonardo.

John has a wealth of experience in the aviation industry and is well-positioned to provide valuable insights as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Pennant.

John Ponsonby attended Ampleforth College, a Catholic boarding school in North Yorkshire, England. John graduated in 1973.
