Ivan Zhang

Ivan Zhang has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Ivan is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of PennyWorks since April 2021. Prior to that, they co-founded Blockchain Systems LLC in 2016.

In terms of finance, Ivan held leadership positions at DRW from May 2018 to April 2021, where they optimized automated delta execution and was responsible for systematic fixed income options trading. Ivan also worked at Bank of America from 2011 to 2018, starting as an AVP - Quantitative Analyst and progressing to Director - Senior Portfolio Manager. In these roles, they focused on risk management of fixed income portfolios, hedging complex non-linear exposures, and portfolio optimization. Ivan also served as a VP - Senior Quantitative Analyst.

Earlier in their career, Ivan worked as a Quantitative Management Associate at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from 2010 to 2011, where they designed and developed real-time forecasting models for algorithmic trading. Ivan also worked as a Quantitative Management Associate at Bank of America from 2009 to 2010. Before that, they gained experience as a Technology Analyst - Credit Risk and Analytics at Merrill Lynch in 2008.

Ivan's educational background includes working as a Research Assistant at McGill University from 2006 to 2008, where they focused on experimental economics and game theory experiment design and development. Ivan also worked as a Software Developer Intern at Research In Motion in 2007.

Ivan Zhang began their education at McGill University from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Economics and Mathematics. Ivan then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Financial Mathematics at the University of Chicago in 2008-2009. After a few years, Ivan returned to education and completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology, studying from 2015 to 2017.
