Darshan Thakkar

Darshan Thakkar has worked in various engineering roles since 2004. Darshan began their career as an FPGA Design Engineer at the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) in 2004. The following year they took on the role of Lecturer and Tutor at the Advanced Computing Training School, CDAC. In 2007, they worked as a VHDL Design Engineer at Clarinox Technologies Pty Ltd and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at RMIT University. From 2013 to 2016, they were a Senior FPGA Engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation, where they lead the FPGA development of the SCS-400 and the hardware development activities of the prototype to production project of the \"Digital Video Guard\". In 2019, they became a Senior Hardware Design Engineer at Imagination Technologies, responsible for the Bus Interface module within the GPU Memory Hierarchy team. Currently, they are an FPGA Engineer at Penten, responsible for the overall FPGA design activities.

Darshan Thakkar began their educational journey in 1984 when they obtained their Secondary School Certificate from Matunga Premier High School in Mathematics. Darshan then obtained a Diploma in Engineering from VES Polytechnic in Instrumentation in 2000. In 2004, Darshan earned a Diploma in VLSI Design from the Advanced Computing Training School, CDAC in Digital Design using FPGAs, ASICs. Darshan then obtained a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Mumbai in Instrumentation in 2003. Darshan went on to complete a Master of Engineering (Coursework) from RMIT University in Microelectronics in 2007, and a Master of Engineering (Research) from RMIT University in Communication/Electronics in 2008. Additionally, Darshan has obtained certifications in Provide First Aid, CPR, Basic Emergency Life Support from St John Ambulance ACT in June 2022, and Senior First Aid from Red Cross College in October 2012.
