Doug Henderson

Doug Henderson, PhD, currently serves as an R&D Product Development Associate Principal Scientist at PepsiCo, a position held since June 2021. Prior to this, Doug was a Senior Scientist at SIMULATE from September 2020 to April 2021, where significant contributions included the development of plant-based food products and the construction of a database for ingredient interactions. From August 2014 to July 2021, Doug worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland, specializing in the structural and mechanical characterization of cellulose-based materials and conducting research using advanced techniques like small angle neutron scattering. Doug's research experience also includes a role as a Research Assistant at the University of Virginia in 2013. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
