Marcelo Altmann

Marcelo Altmann's work experience begins in 2007, where they worked as a Web Developer and DBA MySQL at Versul Tecnologia, managing databases and configuring servers for the transport industry. Marcelo then moved on to Evolution-Eusing in 2011 as a PHP Developer, troubleshooting issues and adding new features to clients' websites.

In 2012, Marcelo joined Avvio.com as a PHP Software Developer and MySQL Database Administrator, where they developed and maintained LAMP stack applications for the hotel sector. Marcelo later worked at IE Domain Registry as a Senior MySQL Database Administrator, where they managed a cluster of database servers and migrated servers to MySQL 5.6.

Since 2016, Marcelo has been working at Percona, starting as a Senior Support Engineer - Tech Lead. In this role, they troubleshooted complex customer issues and reduced warm-up times after backup restores. Currently, Marcelo works as a Senior MySQL Database Software Engineer at Percona, where they work on MySQL related projects and has implemented improvements such as Xtrabackup architecture revamping and ZSTD compression support.

Marcelo Altmann completed their education at Universidade Feevale from 2009 to 2015, earning a degree in Systems for Internet Technologist with a focus on Web development. In 2020, they also completed a C++ Nanodegree from Udacity. Additionally, Marcelo has obtained multiple certifications from Oracle, including Oracle Certified Professional designations in MySQL 5.7 Database Administrator (obtained in November 2018), MySQL 5.6 Developer (obtained in March 2017), MySQL 5.6 Database Administrator (obtained in December 2015), MySQL 5 Developer (obtained in December 2013), and MySQL 5 Database Administrator (obtained in October 2013). Marcelo also holds an Oracle Certified Associate certification in MySQL 5.0/5.1/5.5, obtained in February 2011.
