Manolis M. Tsangaris

Manolis M. Tsangaris has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Manolis M. began their career at Bell Communications Research as a Member of Technical Staff in 1992, where they co-invented an algorithm for managing Voice of Demand isochronous stream caches and designed a graphical interface for mainframe legacy information systems. Manolis M. then joined AT&T Research as a Senior Member of Technical Staff, where they worked on large-scale visualization and analytics technologies, call detail, customer care, and voice over IP.

In 1999, Tsangaris became a Senior Member of Technical Staff and Department Head at Bell Labs Lucent Technologies, where they directed the Voice Enhanced services group and managed teams in the US and Greece. During their time there, they implemented the first multimodal platform and associated applications.

Tsangaris went on to work as a Senior Consultant at AmmoCore Technology, where they defined, designed, and implemented the multiprocessing infrastructure of the company's main EDA tool. Manolis M. also contributed to the Ammocore Icebox hardware appliance group.

In 2004, Tsangaris founded Athena Design Systems and served as the Chief Architect, responsible for the design of the company's main product, including the scripting interface and multiprocessing abstractions.

From 2010 to 2014, Tsangaris worked as a Senior Researcher at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, where they participated in several EU projects and managed a group of developers and students.

Tsangaris then held the role of Head of Engineering at Dynamic Ideas Labs from 2011 to 2015, before becoming a Senior Software Architect at Benefits Science Technologies from 2015 to 2017.

Most recently, Tsangaris has been employed at Performance Technologies S.A. as the Head of the Analytics Group since 2018. In this role, they direct and manages a team of engineers to deliver advanced analytics solutions in the areas of network performance monitoring and business process analytics, utilizing an agile methodology for analytics.

Throughout their career, Tsangaris has demonstrated expertise in software development, technology exploration, system design, research, and innovation.

Manolis M. Tsangaris has a strong educational background in computer sciences and engineering. Manolis M. first attended the National Technical University of Athens from 1981 to 1986, earning an Engineering Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From 1986 to 1988, they obtained a Master's of Sciences degree in Computer Sciences. Manolis M. continued their studies at the same institution and completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Sciences from 1988 to 1992.
