Garrett also has a background working in the US Navy, where Garrett held various positions such as Engineering Watch Supervisor, Instructor, Mechanical Operator, Maintenance Technician, and Nuclear Propulsion Plant Supervisor. Garrett earned a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology/Technician from Excelsior University. Additionally, Garrett completed training at Nuclear Power School at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC).
