Varsha Kumar

Varsha Kumar has a diverse work experience in the field of cyber security. Varsha began their career in 2017 as an Administrator Internship at Technoforte Software Pvt. Ltd. In 2019, they worked as a Student Administrative Lead and Technician at the University of Maryland. During this time, they also worked as a Secure Software Developer Internship at HTC Global Services. In 2020, they became the Student Chapter Secretary at Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS). Currently, they are working as a Cyber Security Analyst at PerimeterX and an IT Security Intern at DISYS. At DISYS, their role includes maintaining and monitoring the company's network against vulnerabilities, reviewing collected logs to ensure best practices are in use, and performing internal auditing of IT security practices. At WiCyS, they collaborated in founding and starting the chapter for the University of Maryland, while becoming its first Secretary. Varsha was also responsible for day-to-day member-based operations along with the President and Vice-President of the chapter.

Varsha Kumar attended SRM University from 2015 to 2019, where they earned their Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology. Varsha then went on to pursue their Master of Science in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland from 2019 to 2021. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from Splunk, Microsoft, and Udemy, including Splunk 7.x Fundamentals Part 1 in March 2020, Database Administration Certification from Microsoft in September 2017, and Ethical Hacking from Scratch from Udemy in September 2017.
