Douglas Smith

Douglas Smith, AIA, is a seasoned architectural professional with extensive experience spanning over four decades. Currently serving as the Managing Principal at Perkins+Will since September 2014, Smith previously held the role of Managing Principal of Architecture at AECOM Chicago from October 2011 to September 2014, overseeing various architectural projects across the U.S. Prior to that, Smith contributed to HOK Chicago for nearly three decades, starting as a Project Designer and advancing to Group Vice President, where Douglas established the International Practice. Early in the career, Smith worked as a Project Designer at Rossetti. Academically, Smith holds a Bachelor in Science in Architecture, a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Geography, a Master of Architecture, and a Master in Urban Planning, all from the University of Michigan, completed between 1973 and 1981.
