Thomas Kurty has worked in the software development and engineering field since 2015. Thomas began their career as a Junior Specialist at the UC Davis Physics Department, where they planned and constructed critical systems for an experimental particle detector with automated controls. Thomas also performed time series analysis developed in C++ for low-background particle detection experiments and produced data acquisition and data processing software for a network-connected embedded device. In 2016, they joined Cosylab where they designed and maintained controls system applications for the Stanford Linear Accelerator. Thomas created C and C++ software running on Real-Time Linux and RTEMS embedded systems as part of a distributed controls system. In 2019, Kurty joined FireEye, Inc. as a Staff Software Engineer. During their time there, they designed and implemented features for FireEye's email and SIEM cloud services, ETP and Helix, and maintained Email/Web Malware Protection Systems in FireEye's cybersecurity products. In 2021, they began working as a Staff Software Developer at Permiso Security.
Thomas Kurty attended the University of California, Davis from 2011 to 2015 where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) with a double major in Physics and Mathematics.
