William Bengtson

William Bengtson serves as the Vice President of Platform and Security Engineering at HashiCorp since November 2019, with previous roles including Vice President of Security Engineering and Operations, Senior Director of Security Engineering, and Director of Threat Detection and Response within the same company. In addition to current investments and advisory roles in various startups such as DevArmor, RunReveal, Oso, ConductorOne, Permiso Security, and Resourcely, William also hosted the podcast "404 Security Not Found" from October 2022 to June 2025. An academic contributor, William served as a Lecturer at The University of Texas at El Paso from January 2015 to May 2021, teaching a graduate course on Secure Wireless Networks and advising the Computer Science Department on cybersecurity education. William holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Security Engineering from Southern Methodist University.
