Joe Root

Joe Root is the CEO and co-founder of Permutive, a data platform that helps companies personalize their digital products. Joe was previously a salesperson at GoCardless and Pact Coffee, and a software engineer at Morgan Stanley and QinetiQ.

Root began their career as a software engineer at QinetiQ, where they worked on developing software for the military. Joe then moved to Morgan Stanley, where they worked in sales and trading. After a year at Morgan Stanley, Root left to work in product development at Pact Coffee. Joe then moved to GoCardless, where they worked in sales.

In 2013, Root co-founded Permutive with James Allworth. Permutive is a data platform that helps companies personalize their digital products. The company has raised $12 million in funding from investors including Accel Partners, Index Ventures, and Seedcamp.

Joe Root has a MSc in Computer Science from the University of Oxford and a BEng in Computing from Imperial College London.
