Colm Harte

Colm Harte has a strong background in data science and analytics. Colm is currently the Head of Data Science at Peroptyx since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Overstock.com as a Machine Learning Scientist, where they were responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating production ML models. Colm also gained domain knowledge quickly and worked with product sourcing and promotions teams. Before that, they worked as a Machine Learning Analyst at Overstock.com. Colm has also worked as a Data Science Consultant at Accenture and as a Client Data Scientist at DemystData, where they built and implemented predictive models for Tier-1 Banks, Insurers, and Telco companies in SE Asia. Colm has experience in credit decisioning, fraud detection, and customer churn. Colm has also worked at PADDYPOWER as a Senior Data Analyst, where they used analytics to influence key business decisions, and as a Data Analyst. Colm began their career as a Physics PhD Researcher at University College Dublin and as a Marie Curie Research Fellow at Eppra SaS.

Colm Harte completed their Bachelor's degree in Physics with Astronomy at Dublin City University from 2004 to 2008. Colm then pursued further education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics from University College Dublin between the years 2008 and 2012.
