Se Won Jang

Se Won Jang is a seasoned professional in the field of machine learning and technology, currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at Perplexity since April 2025. Previously, Se Won held multiple roles at Pinterest from June 2017 to April 2025, ultimately advancing to Senior Engineering Manager for the ML Platform, where responsibilities included leading engineers to develop extensive machine learning infrastructure and systems that supported numerous features and massive data volumes. Earlier experience includes positions as Tech Lead and Staff Software Engineer within the same platform team, and serving in the Republic of Korea Army as Sergeant and Automated Systems Administrator. Se Won also contributed to edX as a Software Developer Intern, developed prototypes at Tackl, co-founded Deimos Defense, and gained initial industry insight during an internship at InMobi. An educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University, earned between 2011 and 2017.
