Emily Hay has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Emily started their career in 2004 as an Associate at Convergent Technologies Design Group, Inc., where they worked until 2007. From 2007 to 2010, they worked as an Associate at RTKL Associates, Inc. In 2010, they joined Pershing Technologies as the Vice President of Systems Engineering Services, specializing in delivering audio-visual services over a network infrastructure. Currently, since 2017, they are serving as a Board Member at Katalis Foundation.

Emily Hay earned a High School Diploma from James Martin High School. Emily then attended The Johns Hopkins University from 1996 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Music, a Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, and a Master's degree in Acoustics. From 2002 to 2004, they pursued further education at Michigan State University and earned a Master's degree in Music. Aside from their formal education, Emily Hay has also obtained a certification called Certified Technology Specialist - Design (CTS-D) from InfoComm International. The specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not known.
