Tom Klein

General Counsel & SVP, Corporate Development at Persistent Systems

Tom Klein is General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. He joined Persistent in 2014 bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in technology law including an extensive focus on start-up and venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions as well as domestic and international intellectual property transactions. Tom is based in the company’s North American headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.

Tom is a graduate of Swarthmore College and the University of Chicago School of Law. Most recently Tom was a partner in the Silicon Valley office of Greenberg Traurig, LLP and before that spent 20 years with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P.C., the last 13 as a partner.

Since 2001 Tom has been an adjunct professor of law at Santa Clara University School of Law. He was an instructor at UC Berkeley Extension from 2008-2010, an adjunct lecturer in securities regulation at Stanford Law School, and a visiting professor in the Master of Laws program at UC Davis Law School, teaching securities regulation. Tom has authored over 30 publications on legal topics, has lectured widely in his areas of legal expertise, and has served as moderator for numerous panels on legal and business topics in Silicon Valley.
