Travis Yates has extensive experience in the fields of cancer biology and research, currently serving as a Senior Field Applications Scientist at Personalis, Inc. since April 2020. Previously, Yates held roles as a Research Scientist/Project Manager at both Discovery Life Sciences and QualTek Molecular Laboratories, focusing on biomarker and companion diagnostic validation. Academic background includes a Ph.D. in Oncology and Cancer Biology from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and a B.A. in Biology from Florida Atlantic University. Yates also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, exploring tumor suppressor roles in lung adenocarcinoma, and has prior experience as a Chemistry Lab Assistant and Lead Tutor, demonstrating a strong commitment to education and mentorship.
