Sarah Larkin

Head Of Laboratory Science at Perspectum

Sarah Larkin started their work experience in 2010 at the University of Oxford, where they held various roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Postdoctoral Research Scientist. During their time there, they conducted academic research projects in neuropathology, explored the link between neuropathology and molecular genetics in the pathogenesis of pituitary tumors, and collaborated on the development of a novel method for non-invasive detection of a mutation in glioma.

In 2018, Sarah joined Trinity College Oxford as a Lecturer in Medicine, where they remained until 2023.

In 2021, Sarah won an Innovate UK Innovation Scholarship and joined Perspectum Ltd as an Innovation Scholar. Sarah was responsible for promoting knowledge and skills exchange between the academic and commercial sectors, particularly in biosample handling and clinical trials.

Later, in 2022, Sarah became the Head of Laboratory Science at Perspectum Ltd. In this role, they oversaw the creation and management of the lab, including its design, equipping, staffing, and development of lab systems for compliance with ICH-GCP regulations. Sarah also obtained a Human Tissue Authority license for the lab.

Sarah Larkin earned their MBiochem degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Oxford, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Sarah then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Multidrug resistance in cancer at the University of Warwick from 2005 to 2009. In addition, they obtained a certification as a Designated Individual from the Human Tissue Authority in 2022.
