Frederik Eijkman

Frederik Eijkman is an innovative leader in financial inclusion, based in Kisumu, Kenya, where they have lived and worked since 1999 after transitioning from a career as a Dutch corporate lawyer. They founded PEP Intermedius, the first institution in Kenya to enhance access to financial services through a network of cash merchants, and later served as CEO of Pesatransact, a major player in the digital finance landscape in Africa. Frederik has also co-founded multiple organizations, including B to B Kenya Ltd and Share People, while currently serving as COO of PesaKit. They are dedicated to empowering local communities, as demonstrated by their trustee roles at the Kisumu Youth Football Association and Real Kisumu FC. Frederik holds an MBA in Banking from the University of London and an LLM in Law from Utrecht University.
