Peterson Company was founded in 1931 by Howard Peterson to represent a variety of manufacturers in the electrical industry. Today, that tradition continues as Peterson Company partners with leading manufacturers serving the electrical utility sector.

Howard’s belief that “a company needs to make something” eventually inspired Peterson Company to open its own metal fabrication shop. The shop began producing a wide range of items—from baby carriages to apple corers—before ultimately growing into one of the largest grating fabricators west of the Mississippi.

The company has always been grounded in providing customers across the Rocky Mountain Region with highly skilled, technically focused sales professionals and production teams. With offices and fabrication facilities in both Denver and Salt Lake City, we are well equipped to support our manufacturers and customers. Many of our relationships span more than ninety years, and we are proud to consider them our partners. Peterson Company was Colorado’s first ESOP, and it remains employee‑owned today. This structure ensures a strong succession path for the future while giving every employee a vested interest in the success of our manufacturers and customers.
