John Cater

John Cater is the Principal Reservoir Geologist at PetroStrat Limited, where they continue to explore the intricacies of the planet. With a robust background in geology, John previously served as a Senior Geologist at PanTerra Geoconsultants BV and spent over a decade at Ichron Limited as Principal Reservoir Geologist. Their extensive fieldwork has taken them across Central and Southeast Turkey, North Yemen, and beyond, contributing to oil and gas exploration. In addition to their geological pursuits, John is a passionate drummer, performing in the rock mashup band Burly Chassis since 2019 and having previously played with Mungo Parks. John earned a B.Sc. in Geology with Astronomy from the University of Leicester and a Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham.
