Sergio Zimerman

Mr. Zimerman is the chief executive officer and founder. He created the brand (originally under the name Pet Center Marginal) in 2002 after identifying an underpenetrated market with a shortage of competitors. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UNIP – Universidade Paulista and an MBA in retail from the University of São Paulo. He has also taken executive courses in Europe and in the U.S. Early in his career as an entrepreneur, he founded companies in different retail segments, for example, clothes and beverages. As the founder and chief executive officer, he led the initial expansion, which in ten years reached the mark of 27 stores and a turnover ratio of R$200 million in 2012. In 2013, WP became the shareholder and Mr. Zimerman became a member of the board of directors, responsible for implementing the professionalization. They now have 110 stores, a turnover ratio of R$1.2 110 billion and also provide veterinary services under the brand Seres. Mr. Zimerman won the Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Shopping Mall Store Owners Association (ALSHOP) in 2018, intends to transform Petz into the largest and best chain of pet shops in Latin America.
