Peyo Company is an entertainment entity that proudly promotes and perpetuates Peyo’s work and legacy of creating fascinating stories and art and building success through a wide range of consumer products and experience for kids and adults alike.
The company was founded in Belgium by Peyo’s daughter, Véronique Culliford, and regroups all business and creative activities linked to Peyo’s creations: Johan & Peewit, Benny Breakiron, and the global blue phenomenon, The Smurfs.
Peyo Licensing is the worldwide licensor for consumer products, family entertainment & experiences, and book publishing.
Peyo Distribution manages the distribution of the audiovisual catalogue.
Peyo Productions oversees the production of audiovisual content.
Peyo Creations regroups the studio activities, producing new artwork and stories.


Founded in 1984 by Véronique Culliford, Peyo’s daughter, and based in Genval in Belgium, the company today has 30+ employees who keep themselves busy developing the brand throughout the world. On the one hand, there is the graphic studio, which keeps Peyo's work alive (new comic books and license support), and on the other, there is the marketing team which works in close collaboration with its agents worldwide to develop successful licensed merchandising, retail and co-branded promotions, publishing activities, broadcasting deals, theme parks, live shows… that have secured the everlasting success of the Smurfs.
