Alex Opio

Alex Opio is an accomplished Regulatory Affairs Director with over 33 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. They began their career as a Graduate Associate Scientist at the University of Wisconsin, Madison School of Pharmacy, where they contributed to research on a continuous assay for HIV. Alex has held various positions at Pfizer, including Senior Regulatory Manager and Regulatory Senior Manager, where they led regulatory strategies for complex submissions, supported global registration activities, and contributed to critical programs, including a fast-track COVID-19 antiviral initiative. Currently, Alex serves as the Director of Regulatory CMC Strategy, overseeing the regulatory CMC strategy and submissions for Pfizer's Hospital Category Anti-Infectives portfolio. They hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the Universidad de Puerto Rico.
