Alex Pitt

Software Architect

Alex Pitt is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in embedded systems, robotics, and cloud computing. From 2012 to 2015, Alex developed embedded firmware and desktop applications at Private Contracting, collaborating closely with electrical engineers and company leadership. Subsequent roles at CSIRO's Data61 Robotics and Autonomous Systems Group from 2019 to 2022 included contributions to the DARPA Subterranean Challenge and serving as Software Technical Lead, where Alex championed coding standards and modern development practices. Currently, Alex holds positions as a Senior Software Engineer on the Azure Core Trusted Platform team at Microsoft and as a Software Architect at Pfizer, focusing on advancing machine learning models to production quality. Alex's earlier experience at CSIRO involved software development for remote sensing projects and a role at Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer in Test. Alex earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering with First Class Honours from The University of Queensland.
