Ashwin Venkat

Ashwin Venkat is an accomplished regulatory scientist with a strong background in chemistry and extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as the Director of Regulatory Affairs at Pfizer since August 2025, Ashwin oversees regulatory strategy and compliance for drug development, ensuring alignment with FDA, EMA, and global regulatory standards. Previously, Ashwin held the position of Lead Regulatory Scientist at the FDA from June 2024 to August 2025, where contributions included scientific evaluations and policy development to support public health initiatives. Earlier experience includes an Interdisciplinary Scientist role at the FDA focused on assessing chemistry, manufacturing, and control data, and a Research Affiliate position at Caltech centered on the design of chiral carbazole-derived ligands. Ashwin holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master's degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Additionally, Ashwin earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Loyola College.
