Heather Frericks Schmidt has significant work experience in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and material science. Heather began their career at Pfizer in 2008 as a Principal Scientist, where they directed solid state NMR activities and led Material Science activities for selecting solid forms for small molecule drug candidates. Heather also performed solid form screening and physical characterization of materials. Prior to Pfizer, Heather worked as a Graduate Student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2003 to 2008. Heather also held a position as an Applications Specialist at Gilson from 2002 to 2003.

Heather Frericks Schmidt completed their education at Truman State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from 1998 to 2002. Heather then pursued further education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from 2003 to 2008.
