Joel Bard

Joel Bard has extensive experience in both biomedical research and orchestral conducting. From October 2009 to April 2023, Joel held various positions at Pfizer, culminating as a Research Fellow and Group Leader of the BioMedicine Design Bioinformatics Group, as well as serving as a Principal Research Scientist specializing in X-ray crystallography and an Associate Research Fellow in bioinformatics. Prior to this, Joel directed the Repertory Orchestra at the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras from August 1989 to June 2011 and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Boston Biomedical Research Institute from January 1999 to March 2001. Joel obtained a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Harvard University and a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting from The Juilliard School.
