Rafael Gil, PhD, is a dedicated pharmacology scientist with over 8 years of experience in biochemistry and cell biology research across academia and industry. Currently a Senior Scientist in Translational Medicine at Pfizer, they previously led pivotal research at Riparian Pharmaceuticals and the University of Michigan, focusing on innovative approaches to pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases. Rafael holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Puerto Rico and both a Master’s and a Doctorate in Pharmacology from the University of Rochester. Their expertise includes advanced methodologies such as CRISPR gene editing, microscopy, and experimental design.
