Don Howerton is a seasoned energy executive with extensive experience in commercial procurement and regulatory policy, currently serving as Senior Director of Commercial Procurement at Pacific Gas and Electric Company since February 2003. In this role, Don oversees negotiations and procurement for renewable energy and energy storage, manages mid-term planning and financial hedging for the electric portfolio, and directs strategic analysis and modeling. Previous positions include Director of Structured Energy Transactions and Chief of Utility Owned Microgrids, where Don led efforts in implementing commercial initiatives and managing responses to Public Safety Power Shutoff events. Don's foundation in law and energy transactions is bolstered by roles at The Williams Companies and a clerkship at the U.S Bankruptcy Court. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Communication and a Juris Doctor, both with distinction from the University of Oklahoma.
