JD Sotelo has extensive experience in community service and leadership roles, serving as a Board Member for Familia Center and Santa Cruz Neighbors Inc. from 2002 to 2010. JD was a founding member of Neighbors Of Lower Ocean, contributing from 1994 to 2011, and served as the 545 Community Service Chair & Editor at Santa Cruz Moose Lodge 545 during a decade-long tenure. JD was a member of the Chief Belcher's Alcohol Advisory Committee from 2000 to 2004 and participated in various committees, including the SC Master Transportation Workshops and the SC PD Chief Vogel Citizen Advisory Committee. Currently, JD holds the position of Electric Department Construction Foreman at Pacific Gas and Electric Company since 2006, responsible for building and maintaining electrical distribution facilities in Santa Cruz County while leading a crew in all weather conditions. JD also served as a mentor for the SC PD Pride Program from 2010 to 2011.
