Michael McCarty, PE, is an engineering leader specializing in next-generation electric distribution. They served as the Principal Power Systems Engineer at SolarCity from 2015 to 2017, where they managed a team focused on interconnection R&D projects and contributed to industry standards and technical policy discussions. Previously, at Pacific Gas and Electric Company from 2011 to 2018, they advanced through various engineering roles, ultimately becoming the Distribution Engineering Manager. Alongside their professional experience, Michael taught electrical engineering courses as an Evening Lecturer at California Polytechnic State University from 2012 to 2016.
