Neelam Taneja is a Professor and Head of the Department of Medical Microbiology at PGIMER in Chandigarh, where they have been active since 2012. With over 26 years of research experience in bacteriology and antimicrobial resistance, Neelam has led significant projects, including the development of public health laboratories in northern India and a large surveillance study on foodborne pathogens. Currently, Neelam is investigating environmental antimicrobial resistance and the ecology of cholera in north India, while also participating in various global health networks and advisory committees. Neelam holds multiple degrees in medicine and microbiology, including an MD from Lady Hardinge Medical College, and has authored more than 220 publications.
