Chris Holt has over 20 years of experience in materials science, engineering, and business operations. Chris began their career in 1997 as a Senior Process Engineer at Harri Semiconductor (Intersil/Renesas), where they provided process engineering support and integration for thin film metallization of CMOS and Bipolar circuits. In 1999, Holt joined NexTech Materials, LLC (Nexceris) as a Research Scientist and Sensors Group Leader, managing a group of engineers and technicians dedicated to developing and commercializing sensor technology for fuel processing and solid oxide fuel cells. Their research at NexTech resulted in three issued patents related to PEM and SOFC fuel cell protection and hydrogen safety. In 2006, Holt founded Holt Scientific, LLC and provided materials science and ceramics process consulting to small businesses and universities. Chris also developed custom sensor technology and negotiated licenses, as well as designed test stands and systems for fuel cell characterization. In 2010, Holt co-founded pH Matter, LLC, focusing on materials R&D and commercialization of battery and fuel cell materials. Their other responsibilities included general business operations management, finance, and marketing strategy. In 2019, Holt co-founded Power to Hydrogen, LLC, accelerating the transition to a clean energy future by improving the affordability of renewably derived green hydrogen.
Chris Holt obtained a BS in Physics from Case Western Reserve University in 1995, followed by an MS in Materials Science and Engineering (Electronic Ceramics) from The Ohio State University in 1997.
