Laamia Islam has a diverse work experience, beginning with their role as an Engineering Technician at the Naval Research Laboratory in 2006. In 2009, they took on the role of Research Analyst at Duke University Center for Neuroengineering. In 2010, they became a Hospital Technician at Engineering World Health, and in 2011, they were a Research Intern at AnthroTronix. In 2012, they joined Deloitte as a Consultant and Business Technology Analyst. In 2015, they joined Oscar Health as a Software Engineer, Software Engineer Technical Lead, and Product Manager. In 2020, they became the Director of Engineering at Alula. Most recently, in 2022, they were appointed Engineering Manager and Software Engineer at Phantom.
