Ricardo Pinho

Ricardo Pinho has over seven years of experience in the data engineering and data science fields. Ricardo began their career in 2014 as a Fellow at Insight Data Science, where they created a web app and developed Python scripts for web scraping. In the same year, they became a Senior Data Scientist/Engineer at Grand Rounds, Inc., where they designed and built the initial data architecture and pipelines from the ground up. In 2017, they joined Nuna Inc. as a Senior Data Engineer, where they designed and implemented a scalable health care provider database. Ricardo then moved to Cruise in 2019 as a Senior Data Engineer, where they proposed a data-driven retention policy and reduced the cost of Data Warehouse storage by more than 70%. In 2021, they joined Stripe as a Senior Data Engineer embedded with Connect Data Science, where they built a metrics pipeline and dashboard reliability solutions. Ricardo is currently working at Phantom as a Data Engineer.

Ricardo Pinho has a background in Computational Biology, having obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a Bachelor of Science - BS in Physics from Universidade do Porto. Ricardo is currently pursuing a degree at Stanford University in Computational Biology.
