Derek Ellison

Derek Ellison has extensive work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Derek is currently serving as the Vice President of Biologics Services, Europe at Pharmaron since May 2021. Prior to that, they worked at AbbVie from 2020 to 2021, holding the position of Associate Vice President for CMC Development Operations and Brazikumab Transition Lead. From 2016 to 2020, Derek worked at Allergan, where they held various roles including Hold Separate Manager for Brazikumab, Associate Vice President for CMC Development Operations, Associate Vice President for Biologics R&D Strategic Partnering, and Executive Director for Strategic Partnerships in Biologics R&D. Before joining Allergan, they were the Chief Operating Officer at Actavis (now Allergan) from 2014 to 2016. Derek's earlier experience includes serving as Chief Operating Officer and VP Development & Manufacturing at Eden Biodesign Ltd from 2004 to 2014, as well as a Business Development Director in the company. Derek co-founded Eden Biopharm in 2000, where they provided consultancy in biopharmaceutical development to a range of clients. Derek started their career at Celltech Medeva as an Analytical Development Manager and worked as a Post Doc at the Wellcome Centre for Cell Matrix Research.

Derek Ellison obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Biochemistry from the University of Warwick in 1991. Derek then pursued a PhD in Protein Biochemistry at the University of Liverpool from 1991 to 1994.
