Filipa Antunes has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Filipa is currently serving as the Senior Director of Business Development at Pharmaron, where their role is to establish and nurture research collaborations with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Business Development at the same company, where they were responsible for identifying and establishing research collaborations with various companies.
Before joining Pharmaron, Filipa worked at Sygnature Discovery, where they held multiple roles including Business Development Director and Business Development Executive. In these positions, they developed smart and cost-effective strategies for bringing ideas from the table to the marketplace. Filipa also worked as a Senior Scientist and Project Manager at Sygnature Discovery, overseeing the daily operations of the DMPK department and providing support to the business development and marketing teams.
Earlier in their career, Filipa worked at Novozymes as a Senior Research Scientist and Project Leader in the biopharma division. Filipa led large R&D projects focused on drug delivery platforms and collaborated with small biotech companies to develop innovative drugs. Filipa also worked as a Research Scientist and Project Leader at Novozymes, where they led feasibility study projects and specialized in bioanalytical support for drug development.
Filipa's early experience includes working as an Operations Assistant at Portugal Telecom and as an Intern in Drug Discovery at The School of Pharmacy, University of London. Filipa also served as a Lab Demonstrator at Faculdade de Ciencias e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa and as an Intern in Behavioural Biology at the University of Konstanz.
Filipa Antunes completed an Executive Master of Business Administration (e.M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management from Nottingham University Business School from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, they earned a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Nottingham between 2008 and 2011. Filipa'seducational journey began with a Master's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, which they obtained from 2003 to 2007.
