James Hughes is a Technical Specialist in Metabolite ID at Pharmaron since March 2023. Prior to this role, James served as a Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham from August 2016 to February 2023, during which time an integrated taught/research PhD programme was completed, addressing interdisciplinary challenges in ageing and regenerative medicine, trauma, and cardiovascular disease. James holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from the University of Birmingham, completed in November 2020, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Physical Sciences for Health from the same institution, obtained in September 2017. The academic journey began with a Master of Chemistry (MChem) in Chemistry from the University of Hull, studied from 2011 to 2016, following A-Levels in Chemistry, Physics, and Psychology at Ysgol Brynhyfryd.
