Jane Zhang

Chief Quality Officer at Pharmaron

Dr. Jane (Jinfang) Zhang is Chief Quality Officer of Discovery Services and has worked at Pharmaron since 2003. From 1998 to 2003, Dr. Zhang was a Staff Researcher II at Advanced SynTech (formerly Helios Pharmaceuticals) involved in discovery and high throughput medicinal chemistry for a number of therapeutic targets, including matrix metalloprotease inhibitors, and selective agonists or antagonists for various intracellular nuclear receptors (ER, GR and PPARgamma). She was responsible for design and solid-phase synthesis of numerous kinase- and protease-targeted libraries, solid-phase parallel syntheses of peptidomimetic and heterocyclic small organic diverse combinatorial libraries. From 1996 to 1998, Dr. Zhang was a Staff Scientist at Cytel Corporation, California, working in lead optimization of small peptidomimetic inhibitors for cell adhesion molecules, leukocyte integrin VLA-4.

Dr. Zhang obtained her B.Sc. degree from Fudan University in 1984, her M.Sc. (1987) and Ph.D degree (1990) under the supervision of Prof. Li-Xin Dai at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry. From 1992-1994 she did postdoctoral work under Prof. Hanessian at the University of Montreal, Canada. Dr. Zhang continued her postdoctoral training under the supervision of Prof. Goodman at University of California, San Diego (1994-1996).
