Jie Wu

Dr. Jie Wu is Senior Vice President of Synthetic and Discovery Process Chemistry. Dr. Wu joined Pharmaron in 2003 and was promoted to the positions of Group Leader in 2004, Associate Director of Chemistry in 2005, Director of Chemistry in 2006, Senior Director of Chemistry in 2008, Executive Director of Chemistry in 2009, Vice President of Synthetic Chemistry in January 2012 and Senior Vice President of Synthetic Chemistry in 2015.

Dr. Wu is currently Head of the Synthetic Chemistry Department with over 500 staff members, working in a wide range of discovery and early development chemistry projects in FFS- and FTE-based models. Dr. Wu has successfully led numerous chemical synthesis campaigns for collaboration partners over the last several years. Her experience ranges from fast and cost-effective chemical synthesis of drug molecules through various modern synthetic chemistry technologies to efficient project and people management.

Dr. Wu received her B.Sc. from West China University of Medical Science (now West China Center of Medical Science, Sichuan University) in 1995 and her Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Ke-Liang Liu at the Chinese Academy of Military Medical Science in 2003.
