Steven Hunter

Associate Principal Scientist II at Pharmaron

Steven Hunter has a diverse work experience in the fields of analytical chemistry and research. Steven started their career as an Analytical Chemist at AstraZeneca where they gained practical and theoretical knowledge of techniques such as HPLC, GC, IR, Raman, and MS. Steven then worked as a PhD student at The University of Edinburgh, conducting research on the effects of high pressures on the structure and properties of energetic materials. Steven also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the same institution, where they explored the effects of high pressure on oil-based lubricants and tackled polymorphism challenges with a current API in development. Later, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at The United States Army Research Laboratory, investigating the effects of shear on the high-pressure polymorphism of energetic materials using experimental and computational techniques. Currently, they are working as an Associate Principal Scientist II at Pharmaron, where they supervise other analysts and works as an Analytical Chemist in the pharmaceutical industry.

Steven Hunter attended Dunfermline High School from 1998 to 2004. Steven then pursued a Master of Chemistry with Industrial Experience at The University of Edinburgh from 2004 to 2009.
