UX Designer at Phase2

Crystal Tompkins has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2002 with a role as a Graphic Designer at Watson + Associates. In 2003, they moved to Vesta as a Training Supervisor, where they supervised and expanded the training team from 3 to 12 people, established a Spanish language training team, and managed the hiring and training expansion of 600 new employees to a new job site in one year. From 2007 to 2021, Crystal was a Digital and Fine Arts Teacher at Evergreen Public Schools, where they designed and created materials for courses, drove and facilitated change to industry standard animation software, and led the Digital Arts Steering Committee. From 2021 to 2022, Crystal was a UX Designer for Gardenstead, where they collaborated with the client and design team to ideate potential solutions for developing the company growth strategy and vision, and developed and synthesized research to gain a better understanding of user needs and business growth options. Currently, Crystal is a UX Design Lead at Tech Fleet Community DAO, where they interview and enlists apprentices to build the UX design team and facilitates the iterative design process for building a donation page and Slack integration for Beela.se.

Crystal Tompkins received their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Oregon State University in 2000, majoring in Graphic Design. Crystal then attended Mt. Hood Community College, where they earned an Associate of Science - AS in Graphic Design in 1996. In 2004, Crystal earned their Master of Education (MEd) from Portland State University, majoring in Art Teacher Education. In 2021, Crystal began a UX Design Career Track at Springboard, which they are expected to complete in 2022. Crystal also holds additional certifications, including a National Board Accredited certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (obtained in 2014), a Washington Professional Teaching License from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (obtained in 2007), and an Oregon Professional Teaching License from the TEACHER STANDARDS & PRACTICES COMMISSION, OREGON (obtained in 2007).
