Kris Hanson

Kris has more than 20 years of legal experience advising public and private companies with respect to capital markets and strategic transactions, commercial contracting and licensing, IP portfolio management, corporate governance, compliance, and litigation. Prior to joining PhaseBio, he was a member of the executive leadership team at Nalpropion Pharmaceuticals with day-to-day responsibility, oversight, and management of the company’s legal, compliance, human resources, and facilities functions. Previously, he served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for Orexigen Therapeutics and in senior legal roles at Lytx, Cricket Communications, and SAIC. Before beginning his in-house career, Kris worked in private practice as a corporate lawyer at Morrison & Foerster LLP and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP, after having served as a judicial law clerk for U.S. District Court Judge John S. Rhoades. Kris received a BA from Georgetown University and a JD from the UCLA School of Law.
