John Morton

Co-Founder at Phasecraft

John Morton has extensive work experience in the field of quantum science and technology. John is currently the Director of UCL Quantum Science and Technology Institute, a role they have held since June 2016. Prior to this, they were a Professor in Nanoelectronics and a Royal Society URF at UCL from July 2014. Before that, they served as a Reader in Nanoelectronics at UCL from July 2012 to July 2014.

In addition to their work at UCL, John is a Co-Founder of Phasecraft since February 2019. John is also a Founding Director of Quantum Motion Technologies since August 2017. Prior to these roles, they worked as a Consultant at Q&I Ltd in 2016.

John's career in academia began at the University of Oxford in 2005. John was a Junior Research Fellow from October 2005 to September 2009. John then went on to become a Royal Society University Research Fellow from October 2008 to June 2012.

John Morton attended Radley College from 1993 to 1998, where they completed their secondary education. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Cambridge from 1998 to 2002, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (M.Eng) degree in Natural Sciences, with a specialization in Electrical Engineering. John then pursued further studies at the University of Oxford from 2002 to 2005 and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (D.Phil) degree in Materials Science.
