Jose Almonte is a seasoned machine learning and data engineering professional with extensive experience in various roles. Currently serving as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer and Lead Data Engineer at phData since October 2021, Jose previously worked as a Data Engineer at New Classrooms from August 2015 to October 2021. Prior to that, a Technology Coordinator at the High School of Language and Innovation and a Math Immersion Fellow with NYC Teaching Fellows were among earlier positions. Jose’s career began with roles in smaller organizations, including a Project Engineer Intern at Nucor Steel and a Sales Engineer at Electro Industries/GaugeTech. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University and a Master's degree in Education from St. John's University.
